Germantown Mutual Insurance Company has been an important business in Wisconsin for over 167 years.
They are the oldest mutual Insurance Company in Wisconsin.
On April 1, 1854, just six years after Wisconsin had received its statehood, the Germantown Farmers Mutual
Insurance Company was established as the first mutual insurance company in Wisconsin. The original
officers and agents were prominent local leaders and dedicated to the development of the Germantown
area.
As the company grew, its office was housed in a number of different locations in Germantown. The newest
building was completed in 1997 and allows for continued expansion.
